Research Interests
Prof. Razia is an internationally recognised authority on chemical safety and security, with decades of work shaping national policy in Bangladesh and advising intergovernmental bodies. Her research bridges rigorous chemical engineering — distillation, separation, and effluent treatment — with real-world safety governance. She has helped prepare national guidelines for petroleum product safety, assessed environmental and safety compliance in chemical industries across Bangladesh, and championed the integration of chemical security into everyday industrial practice. Her collaboration with the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University (from 2011) established a cornerstone international partnership for BUET's chemical engineering programme.
