Admission Information

Applications are accepted once or twice a year for the April and October sessions. Admission is competitive and merit-based.

Eligibility — MSc / MEngg

  • BSc in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognised university
  • Written admission test covering Chemical Engineering fundamentals
  • Viva-voce examination by the departmental committee

Eligibility — PhD

  • BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent recognised discipline
  • Statement of research intent and proposed topic
  • Prior identification of a willing faculty supervisor is strongly recommended

Supervisor Selection

All MSc and PhD students must identify and confirm a faculty supervisor within the first semester. Selection is subject to faculty availability and research alignment.

Supervisor Selection Guidelines

  • Review the research areas of all faculty members in the Faculty section before submitting
  • Contact your prospective supervisor in person or by email to discuss research compatibility prior to submission
  • Supervisor changes after allocation are exceptional and require written justification to the BPGS
